What is the purpose of the All In Order™️ Legacy Box?
The All In Order™️ Legacy Box is a physical place for you to store and organize your key documents and records. The purpose of the box is threefold:
1) to help you pull key information together to help you feel informed, up-to-date and organized;
2) to make your incapacity or your death less burdensome on your loved ones; and
3) to help you create or leave a legacy that goes beyond accumulated wealth by leaving special and personal touches.
What kind of documents do I put in the All In Order™ Legacy Box?
The All In Order™ Legacy Box contains 12 labelled tabs allowing you to store and organize Wills & Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Property Info, Bank Accounts, Investments, Insurance, Pension/Benefits, Business Interests, Orders/Agreements, Debts & Taxes, Certificates & Passports, and Misc. Information.
Each All In Order™ Legacy Box also contains 6 blank tabs that you can personalize and identify as you wish (eg. letters to loved ones, family recipes, thank you notes, quotes or passages from your favorite books, etc.)
The Key Information Sheet (also included in each All In Order™ Legacy Box) allows you to write down key information such as lists of contacts, safety deposit box location, subscriptions, etc.
Where should I store my All In Order™️ Legacy Box? And how will my family know about it?
Once filled, the All In Order™️ Legacy Box will evidently contain private and sensitive information, you will need to find a secure place to store it. Ideally, everyone would have a waterproof, fireproof home safe to put it in, however, considering that that’s not always feasible and recognizing that safety deposit boxes can be tricky for access, you can store the box in any location that feels safe to you. Some storage suggestions include: top shelf of your closet, top drawer in your dresser, filing cabinet in home office, etc. However, where you store your All In Order™️ Legacy Box depends on your own options and comfort levels.
Keep in mind that your loved ones will need access to the information in the All In Order™️ Legacy Box if something happens to you. Therefore you’ll want relatively easy access for them. Once you’ve selected a comfortable storage place, you will need to advise your loved ones (or the person who will be taking care of your estate) of the location of your All In Order™️ Legacy Box and how to access it. Make sure that your loved ones know to find the All In Order™ Legacy Box promptly if something happens to you.
